Horizon Fitness RT, one of the UK’s top women’s road race teams, has today announced a frame sponsorship courtesy of upcoming high performance bike brand, Velocite Bikes UK. The sponsorship deal will see Velocite Geos frames used by the team at all UK and international races including all rounds of the 2012 Tour Series. Riding the bikes will be British Olympic hopefuls and World Track Team Pursuit Champions, Dani King and Jo Rowsell as well as a number of other high profile riders to be announced very shortly.
Speaking of the announcement, Horizon Fitness Team Manager Stefan Wyman said that:
“Velocite are a high performance, high quality brand of bikes and we’re delighted to welcome them on board for the 2012 season. The combination of light weight, responsiveness and comfort allied to the in-depth technological know how behind the design means we have one of the best frames in the world for our riders to compete on. It’s going to be a great season”.
The team sponsorship represents part of a major marketing and sponsorship push for Velocite following their 2011 entry into the UK market. The Velocite range of bikes includes one alloy and three high-end carbon fibre road frames, a carbon fibre MTB frame and an extensive range of premium components, wheels and accessories. All bikes come with a lifetime warranty – including the alloy model – and are available as frame only or in a variety of SRAM and Shimano complete builds including Dura Ace and Ultegra Di2.
Velocite Bikes UK spokesman, Mark Almond, reports that the company is already receiving a lot of interest from both the public and from bike retailers interested in stocking the brand.
“The response to Velocite has been amazing so far and this deal with Horizon Fitness RT will showcase the high performance character of our bikes. The Horizon Fitness team riders include some of the very best young female riders in the world and we are proud to be associated with every one of them. It’s a perfect match”.
